Here is the script I came up with for this idea:
Tom: tight plain white T-shirt (no graphics/words if possible), jeans, everyday shoes
Luke: tight black T-shirt, jeans, everyday shoes
Note: In addition to the typical body and face punches/kicks during each fight, I'd also love to see more gutpunch scenes where the camera zooms in on the guy's abs being punched.
(Gym or any other indoor location will work fine!) Tom recently overthrew the local champion of his underground fighting league. Since then, he has been training hard to stay on top. Luke, one of the rival league champions from a neighboring city, heard the news and decided to come visit Tom and test his fighting skills in a series of fights until only one of them is left standing.
The match starts as Luke arrives during some of Tom's training. He introduces himself and the two shake hands. Luke explains that he'd like to challenge him to a fight, from one champion to another in order to prove which of them is the better champion. Tom smiles and shrugs his shoulders, “I've never backed down from a fight before. Bring it on!”
Fight 1
Tom and Luke find themselves equally matched. Both fighters are confident and agile. They are occasionally able to dodge one another's attacks, but land their kicks and punches more often than not. The two go back and forth like this until Tom throws a punch at Luke's jaw. He's shocked when Luke effortlessly blocks the punch. Luke counters with a punch to Tom's jaw instead. He throws an additional few face punches, alternating between the left and right sides of Tom's jaw. He then attacks Tom's stomach with fast abdominal punches for 10-15 seconds, followed by an especially powerful gutpunch (slow motion), making sure Tom leans into it, that knocks the wind out of him. Tom is initially left clutching his stomach with one hand while exhausted and out of breath. Luke then delivers an uppercut (slow motion) that leaves Tom dizzy and unstable for about 20 seconds (keep the camera focused on him) before he collapses flat on his back with a moan, barely conscious. Luke stands over Tom and jokes, “Is that all you've got?” Tom is too weak to respond. Luke lifts a knee up high briefly, and then stomps his foot down on Tom's stomach. Tom briefly lurches his head and shoulders upward from the impact, trying his best to resist, but then he soon rolls his eyes with a groan, and collapses flat on his back again, KO'd. Luke removes his foot and inspects his opponent to confirm he's out and then shakes his head, saying, “Some champion…” Luke smirks at the camera and flexes his biceps. Lastly, the camera zooms in and focuses on Tom for about 10 seconds before fading out.
Fight 2
Tom eventually wakes and is pulled to his feet by Luke. Luke smirks and says, “Ready for it to happen again?” Tom shakes his head and then pulls his shirt off and tosses it off-camera before saying, “I think I might surprise you this time.” Luke also pulls his shirt off and tosses it aside and the two ready their fists. Tom proves his resilience by being able to fight hard after his initial defeat. Gutpunches are more frequent during this fight. Eventually, Tom expertly dodges several of Luke's punches. Luke angrily tries to charge him afterward, but Tom delivers a kick to his stomach that briefly stuns him. Before Luke can recover, Tom attacks his stomach with fast abdominal punches for about 15 seconds and ends with an especially powerful gutpunch (slow motion) that causes Luke to sink to his knees. Luke remains upright but is now dizzy and swaying back and forth for about 20 seconds (keep the camera focused on him). Tom throws a punch to the left side of Luke's jaw, followed by another punch to the right side. Seeing that his opponent is done, Tom delivers an uppercut that knocks Luke flat on his back, KO'd. Tom flexes his biceps in victory and then admires his handiwork saying, “Why don't you let that loss sink in?” Lastly, the camera zooms in on Luke for about 10 seconds before fading out.
Fight 3
Luke slowly wakes eventually. Tom helps him to his feet, but Luke angrily shoves him away once he's up, saying, “You only beat me because you got lucky! I'll make sure you stay down after this next fight!” Tom shrugs and says, “Bring it on! Let's see you prove it!” The two ready their fists for one last fight. Their final fight contains lots of gutpunches, face punches, and each guy is knocked to the floor at some point but still manages to get back up. Eventually Tom kicks Luke in the stomach, sending him slamming against the wall behind him. Luke quickly recovers, however and angrily charges toward Tom, jumping up and throwing a punch. Tom quickly dodges out of the way and counters with a knee strike to Luke's gut, effectively stunning him. Tom grabs Luke by the head and delivers another knee strike - this time to the chin (slow motion, if possible). Luke is left dizzy and unstable on his feet for 20 seconds (keep the camera focused on him). Tom then delivers a stomach kick that knocks Luke flat on his back. He kneels down and grabs Luke by the chin and lifts him up into a near-sitting position. “Any last words?” he jokes. Luke appears dazed and barely conscious. He weakly mutters, “I was wrong… Looks like you're the better fighter after all...” While still holding Luke by the chin with one hand, Tom throws one last punch to Luke's stomach. Luke jolts from the immediate impact and then slowly rolls his eyes with a moan, finally KO'd. Tom lowers him back down flat and then stands up and flexes his biceps in victory. “Man, I need to train for this kind of stuff more,” he says to himself before exiting off-camera. Lastly, the camera zooms in on the KO'd Luke for about 10 seconds before fading to black. He got more than what he expected by challenging a rival champion. END.
Alternate Ending - Luke Wins
This scene begins after Tom kicks Luke in the stomach, sending him slamming against the wall behind him. Luke quickly recovers and angrily charges toward Tom, jumping up and throwing a punch that connects to his jaw. Tom is stunned, and Luke immediately follows up with a few alternating punches to the left and right sides of his jaw. Luke then attacks Tom's stomach with fast abdominal punches for about 15 seconds. Following this attack, he slams another powerful punch deep into Tom's stomach (slow motion). Tom's eyes begin to droop and he gasps for breath. Luke finally releases the fist he's had pressed into Tom's gut. Tom sinks to his knees. He's now dizzy and unstable for 20 seconds. Luke takes a step back and then delivers a kick to Tom's chin that knocks him flat on his back. Luke smirks at his opponent before dropping to straddle Tom's waist. He then pummels Tom's stomach with punches for the next 10-15 seconds until it's clear Tom is nearly finished. Luke grabs Tom by the chin and pulls him up toward him slightly (so that Tom is looking up at him) and holds him steady while he readies a fist with his other hand. “I told you this would happen, didn't I?” Luke asks mockingly. Tom is groggy and barely able to stay conscious. He weakly mutters, “Alright… You were the stronger champion today. Just… knock me out already… please.” Luke smirks at his beaten opponent. Still holding him upright by the chin, Luke slams one last punch into Tom’s gut. Tom briefly jolts from the impact, rolls his eyes with a moan. Satisfied, Luke lets go of Tom’s chin, and he slumps back down flat on his back again. Luke gets to his feet and flexes his biceps in victory and then places his foot on Tom's stomach. “Keep training. Maybe one day you'll be on my level.” Luke looks down to admire his handiwork one last time before exiting off-camera. Lastly, the camera zooms in on the KO'd Tom for 10 seconds. He fought hard but was ultimately no match for the rival champion. The camera slowly fades out. END.
